Phil

The life on 2 wheels began with a Honda 125 dirt bike which he succeeded in crashing way too many times in the fields of a farm in Lathrup Michigan. Mopeds followed and the joys of travelling 30MPH downhill!

But the absolute keystone memory is of a family friend coming up the driveway in about 1978 dressed in a Gold 1 piece leather riding suit, matching helmet, gloves and boots – riding a BMW R1100RS that was (of course) customized with a gold tank and seat! Tip of the hat to Mr. Chambers for that memory.

After the Gold suit and Beamer he found himself in possession of a 1973 Honda CL450 that did not run. Many side jobs and turning of wrenches reinforced the fact that no matter how much money you make, the Honda dealer will take every cent of it (gladly) to keep your bike running.

College ensued and afterwards led to a gleaming 1993 Suzuki Katana 750 which served well until it was sold and summarily totaled by it’s new owner after 13 hours!

The obsession with BMW began in that early age and continued until he was able to get back into riding again with a K1600GT. He is a member of BMWMOA and BMWMOCM (Minnesota)

In 2020 Phil met Van, the original owner of Bullrack while searching for pannier racks for his K16. They established a friendship, their goals aligned and Phil bought Bullrack. They both agree that Bullrack must continue to provide the best, highest quality, American Made pannier racks for your motorcycle!

Van (original Bullrack Owner)

Van has been an enthusiast of the motorcycle lifestyle since Christmas 1966 when Santa dropped off a Honda 50 Cub at the house. Enduros and mountain trail/forest service road riding became his thing in his teen years, first on a Honda CT90 and then on a 1970 Ossa 250. Van introduced his two sons to riding early on and, as a family, they raced motocross in the Eastern US for about 12 years.

On to the road in 2007 with a BMW R1150RT. His current bikes are a 2007 BMW R1200RT, a 2007 BMW R1200S, a 2006 BMW R1200GS, THREE 1999 Honda Z50R’s, and a 1969 Ossa Pioneer 250. Van is a member of the BMWMOA, the BMWMCOGA (Georgia) and is an inmate on ADVRIDER (Daddyrabbit).
